2008 Employee recognition & awards ceremony

On May 15, 2008 the Lake County Sheriff's Office held it's first annual employee awards and recognition ceremony at Konocti Harbor Resort & Spa.

Dozens of sponsors made it possible for the members of our department to come together, joined by their loved ones, to enjoy this special event free of charge. In an organization of 187 people working various assignments and shifts, a great length of time often passes between opportunities for some of our employees to see each other. For many, this was the first opportunity to even meet some of their peers.

Service awards ranging from years of service and safe driving and advanced education and firearms proficiency were given to a number of our members. High honors were also given for bravery and decisiveness under pressure.

Special recognition was given to employees in the following categories:

Deputy of the Year

Correctional Officer of the Year

Dispatcher of the Year

Civilian of the Year

First District Congressman Mike Thompson, who has a long standing and deeply personal appreciation for public safety professionals, issued Congressional Proclamations recognizing each of these employees for their achievements. It was my honor to present those proclamations on the congressman’s behalf.
